In March 2026, I started making pet portraits the size of trading cards and selling them on eBay…
turns out I was joining a (revived) community of artists of making and selling ACEOs, which stands for “Art Cards, Editions, and Originals.” The idea started in the early 2000s, stemming off from artist trading cards, or ATCs. The idea is simple: artists all over the world make 2.5 × 3.5” pieces of art, and collectors collect them! Since learning about ACEOs through viral reels and deciding to join in on the fun, I’ve had a blast making mini pet portraits and selling a handful every week on my eBay. Not only has the reception been great, but I’ve also learned a lot and loosened up since the format requires me to be quick and repetitive.
All of my ACEOs so far are gouache paintings of dogs and cats, lined with ink on Bristol paper.
Since I’m a sentimental person, I LOVE packaging these little guys up every week, writing a letter to their new owner, picking out the stationery, and sending them off to their new homes. It’s bittersweet to let them go, though, so I decided to create a little gallery here on my website so anyone can revisit my creations.
